Nina Gerace OTR/L
Nina Gerace graduated Magna Cum Laude from D’Youville College with a BS/MS in Occupational Therapy in 2003. She spent the majority of her career working in a sensory gym in Brooklyn, NY.
Here she worked with infant through school-aged children with a variety of diagnoses including: autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing issues, feeding difficulties, Down’s syndrome, developmental delays and cerebral palsy. She also played an integral role in the development of the Occupational Therapy programs of two charter schools in the New York City school system.
In addition to her center and school based work, Nina has more recently worked in New Jersey’s Early Intervention system.
Nina has received her SIPT (sensory integration and praxis test) certification, and actively keeps up her NBCOT certification with an emphasis in pediatrics. She has taken many courses including: feeding, DIR floortime, handwriting, neurodevelopmental techniques, Brain Gym, and others. Having a child of her own with autism spectrum disorder has given Nina a unique perspective on the importance of therapeutic activities being both purposeful and meaningful within the context of a child’s daily routine.
Nina lives in Bayonne with her husband and two, wonderful young children.
